The author, Hema Ramakrishna, is already a familiar name to English readers of Colombo with the publication of her first book, ‘The Legacy’, a memoir dedicated to her mother, also published by Vijitha Yapa publications. In ‘Sanctuart!’ she makes a foray into ancient mythology taking on herself the daunting task of retelling the Ramayana story through the six scenes of her play.
