K.H.J, Wijayadasa who was admitted to the Ceylon Civil Service in 1960 served the State Sector of Sri Lanka in diverse capacities culminating in those of Secretary to the Prime Minister and Secretary to the President for a continuous period of eleven years from 1984. He is both a scholar and a professional of no mean repute who has rendered yeomen service to his country, race, religion and language with utmost patriotic fervour. The wide and varied subjects and disciplines mastered and the on the job experience gained by him in diverse fields innclude: Sinhala and English language and literature, history and archaeology, geography and environmental science, economics and sustainable development and public administration, political science and state affairs. He has brought honour and fame to Sri Lanka by engaging in official visits to well over 50 countries in different continents, participating in over 100 high level regional and international meetings, seminars and conterences and since 1995 serving as a Consultant to the UN System, World Bank and Asian Development BAnk in Environment Management and Sustainable Development.
